Shrink Wrap Glossary > Slip
Slip
Slip is measured using the co-efficient of friction of the shrink film. For most applications, very good slip is desired. Hot slip can also be a particularly desirable characteristic. This is the ability of the film to exhibit very good slip even when hot. Generally, films tend to increase in slip as they cool. Occasionally, low slip film is desired, being the opposite of the foregoing, where the objective is to be able to stack wrapped packs without their moving during transportation.
We offer films with specific characteristics for both high as well as low slip. The latter include Ultra type NB whereas the former include both Clysar EZ Gold and Ultra type RC.
