Multi-layer shrink wrap films
Multi-layer
Polyolefin shrink films are generally multi layer and comprise three or
five layers of polymer. Frequently the same polymer is used in two or more layers.
Multi layering produces better performance characteristics in shrink films.
Shrink Films
are invariably multi-layer and the number of layers can be as little as two and
as many as five.
Layers comprise different polymers that offer different characteristics to arrive
at a composite designed to meet a particular shrink wrapping requirement.
Shrink films
as a whole can be irradiated or cross-linked in process or post-extrusion to enhance
its strength.
Increasingly, however, the multi layering of different materials allows conventional
materials to display adequate strength for their intended applications.
